Patch2Paint serves Bergen, Essex, Morris and Passaic county homeowners and businesses.
Not all concrete floors are created for equal use. There’s a big difference between a basement concrete floor and a garage concrete floor. Particularly in northern New Jersey which is subject to four season weather and all kinds of road salts, tree droppings, dirt, and grit which gets tracked into your garage. So before you paint one or the other, it’s smart to bone up on the processes for each so that you don’t wind up hugely disappointed several years later when the paints begin to peel.
From Mahwah to Montville to Moonachie, Patch2Paint Handyman Services can help bring your concrete floors to new life so that you can enjoy them for years to come. We know concrete from the inside out, and we know which processes are best for finishing and refinishing concrete floors.
Epoxy performs beautifully in NJ garages.
Your garage floor takes a special beating. Over the years cracks may form from normal settling and unsightly salts may rise to the surface. That doesn’t even count any automotive fluids or other chemical solutions which may have stained the surface. It’s for reasons like these and others why repainting the garage floor will not give you the long-term results you’re looking for. Concrete floor paint can’t stand up to the stress of car tires nor can it withstand the corrosive effects of chemical spills or drips that can occur, whether from automobiles or home and yard maintenance equipment fuel and fluids.
Patch2Paint’s 5-step epoxy system makes garage floors look better than new.
Patch2Paint specializes in restoring neglected and worn concrete surfaces no matter the size of your garage. Our five-step epoxy system begins with deep cleaning and repairing any cracks, divots and other abrasions and stains before applying an epoxy primer. And you’re not limited to a minimalist color palette. There’s a surprising variety of colors to choose from, so you can either coordinate the garage floor with the rest of your home, or do something funky and different.
Patch2Paint’s five-step epoxy system includes:
Deep cleaning and surface repairs to restore slab to like-new condition
Epoxy coating and primer
Color scheme application with chips
Ultra-strong epoxy application
Non-slip grit to help mitigate falls or slips on wet surface
If you’re not experienced in working with epoxy on such a large project, restoring a garage floor is not the time to do it yourself. There’s a lot of preparation that goes into it, and if you’re busy with work and family, finding the time to properly manage what is a multi-day project might be impossible.
To do it the right way, it’s best to leave it to Patch2Paint. Your epoxy garage floor will not only be beautiful, but it will be able to withstand the rigors of automobiles entering and exiting, and it’s plenty easy to clean up when oil, fluids or chemicals spill on the floor.
Patch2Paint’s professional epoxy finish creates beautiful garage floors.
Incredibly durable – Epoxy offers four-season durability to outlast other garage floor products by a mile.
Easy to clean – Just vacuum and clean with a mop or scrub brush to keep your floor pristine.
Resistant to fuel and chemical spills – Spills won’t penetrate or stain the surface when quickly wiped up with a rag or towel.

Your choice of colors, tile finish or speckles. Ask us about other custom finishes, too!
Brings value – Thinking of selling your home in the next few years? An epoxy garage floor makes buyers take notice.
Backed by a manufacturer’s warranty.
“What do I do about everything in my garage?” Patch2Paint has you covered.
For many Bergen, Essex, Morris and Passaic county homeowners, the biggest stumbling block to tackling a garage floor epoxy makeover is where to put everything they’ve accumulated in the garage while the work is being done. Patch2Paint can deliver a storage pod to your driveway so you can temporarily house your stuff and keep it out of the elements. A pod is a much better solution than a tarp, which in the crazy storms we’re having can easily blow away, exposing all of your yard machines, tools, second refrigerators, etc. to the wind, rain and snow. A pod is a smart, protective alternative worth considering.
Has your basement floor become gross and unwelcoming?
Painting basement floors the right way…or even going the extra mile with ECF.
If you have an unfinished basement or are preparing to finish your basement, you’re no doubt pondering what to do with the basement floor. Nowadays, most every family wants to gain the extra living space that’s available one level down below their feet, but taking the dive can feel overwhelming. Not to worry. You have options when it comes to restoring and beautifying your basement floor, but in most every case doing it yourself requires back breaking effort.
Undertaking the beautification of a painted basement floor that hasn’t been tended to in many years requires that you make sure that any loose paint gets removed. This means either getting on your hands and knees with a scraper, wire brush and sandpaper, or renting a sanding machine and removing the loose paint that way. Depending on the size of your floor, it’s obvious the larger it is the more likely you’ll need the rental.
Once all of that has been done, the next step is to attach a scrub brush to a pole handle (or get back on your hands and knees) and use a mild detergent to give the floor a good scrubbing. Use your wet vacuum (you have one, right?) to draw up any excess water and any more loose paint chips that come up during the scrub.
After the scraping, brushing and sanding, and after the floor has been cleaned, you need to let it dry before moving ahead with applying primer. The best way to tell if the floor is dry is to tape down a 4” x 4” patch of plastic wrap and let it sit overnight. If next morning there is no condensation under the plastic wrap, or the floor underneath doesn’t look darker due to moisture being drawn to the surface, the floor is ready to be primed.
Is there an affordable alternative to painting concrete?
Yes, of course. Beginning with hiring Patch2Paint to do the grunt work for you! We can handle everything we’ve outlined above, plus professionally acid etch an untreated floor if necessary and clean with TSP to make sure that your concrete is in tip-top shape to accept paint. But let’s say you want to do something more inventive and original with your concrete basement floor. What would that be like?
Engineered Concrete Flooring (ECF) makes concrete basement floors something to behold.
Patch2Paint is the only handyman service anywhere that has the technical know-how and skill to apply ECF to basement flooring. Using patented and patent-pending equipment and technologies, ECF transforms basement concrete slabs into colors and shapes that mirror real flagstone or slate tiles. We can even apply a hardwood look to concrete floors. The beauty of an ECF floor is that it can stand up to all of the rigors of a basement while adding an attractive designer-inspired feature that will make your friends’ jaws drop.
Like any basement, there is always the risk that a burst frozen pipe, a sewer backup, or an extended power outage during a storm can lead to basement flooding. With an ECF basement floor, the condition of the floor is one thing you won’t have to worry about. Unlike other basement floor coverings which have to be ripped up and removed if flooded, such as carpeting, tiles, and even hardwood, an ECF basement floor handles water emergencies just like any concrete floor. Just get out the wet vac and vacuum up any remaining water and your floor will look like new again.
